Next generation Nissan GT-R will be hybrid

Next generation Nissan GT-R will be hybrid

The current Nissan GT-R is on sale ever since 2008 and since then a total of five upgrades were offered for the sports cars. While most of you were expecting the 2014 to be the last update offered, it looks like the model will receive another two and that the current generation will be on sale until late 2017.
But despite this announcement, it looks like Nissan engineers have also started to work on the next generation which will be offering impressive updates: a new aerodynamic package on the exterior that will further maximize downforce and high-speed stability, new headlamps design and of course a new powertrain under the hood.
Rumors suggest that the next GT-R will use "some electronic device" that will help it deliver improved fuel economy. There are several possibilities for these updates. The first will be a hybrid system similar to the one used in the Infiniti Essence concept that delivers a total of 600 HP; while the second one will be a "turbo compressor and generator setup" that is still being tested. This means that the next GT-R will be offered with "start-stop device as well as cylinder deactivation technology."
But 2017 is still far away and things can change significantly!
